I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend. I also have Multiple Sclerosis. I think humor is almost the best medicine behind the right song, the ocean, a good nap and Xanax. I also like sarcasm and think a reasonable way to measure a person is by how well they know how to use it and take it. I love to read, even if I often forget what I’ve read, and I love music, especially the sweet sounds created by my children.
My life isn’t defined by having MS but it is definitely saturated by it. There are defining moments and changes have had to be made but I don’t think these are enough to allow for a definition. My children have both been diagnosed with an autoimmune disease which makes for other defining moments as well as another saturating presence in my life. So, even though my life is heavy with the weight of my own disease as well as my children’s, there are other parts of it that are definitely worth mentioning, celebrating and even ranting about.
