About Me

I am a wife, a mother, a sister, a daughter and a friend. I also have Multiple Sclerosis. I think humor is almost the best medicine behind the right song, the ocean, a good nap and Xanax. I also like sarcasm and think a reasonable way to measure a person is by how well they know how to use it and take it. I love to read, even if I often forget what I’ve read, and I love music, especially the sweet sounds created by my children.

While there have been redefining moments and changes have had to be made, I don’t think my life is defined by my MS. My children have both been diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis which, like MS, is also a progressive autoimmune disease. So, even though my life is heavy with the weight of my disease as well as my children’s, there are other parts of it that are definitely worth mentioning, celebrating and even ranting about. My hope is to learn, heal and maybe even help others as I write and read in the blogosphere.

  1. Hi there! I am a writer with Everydayhealth.com (29 million readers monthly!) working on an article about MS and MRIs and, specifically, how to survive the MRI experience. I see that you’ve been a few of those and I was hoping you could do an interview with me this week so we can talk about your experience with MS and MRIs, and perhaps you can provide some survival tips for our readers. Let me know! I know it’s a lot to ask, but there’s more – my editors like to include a photo and real names if possible (your blog seems somewhat anonymous, so if that’s a concern, no worries)

    • Madeline, I have visited Everydayhealth.com many times and have appreciated the help I have found there so I would love to give back if I can! I have been working my way out of anonymity here as I am learning to own my disease instead of the other way around. Let me know how I can help- Michelle :)
